Avionics are the electronic systems used on aircraft, artificial satellites and spacecraft. The term avionics portmanteau of the words aviation and electronics. The cockpit of an aircraft is a typical location for avionic equipment, including control, monitoring, communication, navigation, weather, and anti-collision system. Avionic plays a heavy role in modernization initiatives like the Federal Aviation Administration, Next Generation Air Transportation System projects in the united states and the Single European Sky ATM Research initiatives in Europe. Founded in 1957, the Aircraft Electronic Association represent more then 1,300 members companies, including government certified international repair station specializing maintenance, repair instillation in avionics and electronic system in general aviation aircraft.
